High heeled shoes are a timeless fashion classic. They add sophisticated elegance or charm. They make legs look longer and more slender, and the whole silhouette straightens up and moves more gracefully. Ladies feel feminine and distinguished wearing them.
Stilettos are suitable for almost any everyday and holiday occasion, provided they are clean and well taken care of. You should also take advantage of some tips and accessories that will greatly improve your comfort in heels.
First gear
To move quickly and efficiently in stilettos, you may need… a stopper. This pad, made of flexible gel, prevents your foot from sliding, but also cushions at the points where the pressure is greatest during walks in high heels. However, to make sure it works well, it must be stuck properly. Contrary to what you may think, we do not fit it to the top of a shoe, but appropriately to support of a foot.
Safely in reverse
Heel protectors guard your heel against abrasions and prevent the foot from slipping out of a shoe. The most important thing is to choose the right type for your footwear. The easiest rule is that heel protectors made of natural leather are designed for autumn or winter shoes, when there is an additional material on your foot, whereas the gel ones are used in warm months on completely bare skin.
Take care of varnish
High heels, especially in stilettos, are prone to scratches. Gravel road and uneven pavement, protruding metal board on doorsteps, sharp edges of metal chair legs – the world is full of traps for your heels. Before leaving the house, it’s wise to protect your heel with special transparent film to avoid abrasions. The same film will also protect your heels from permanent dirt.
Don’t throw away, repair
What if it’s too late and an accident has just happened? A few moves and your shoes will regain their former appeal. Once the surface has been thoroughly cleaned and completely dried, you can get down to work. First, mask the defect with a special leather repair product in an appropriate colour. Then it is enough to cover shoes with even opaque paint and properly protect them with film and waterproofer. Just a few simple steps and the damage will be gone.
A small problem
Sometimes stilettos which were perfect in a shop appear to be too tight at home. Attempting to ‘stretch’ such shoes walking in them can result in chafed heels or cracked grain leather. A safe way to stretch your shoes is to use a specially designed spray. After spraying the inside of shoes, put your feet into them and let it dry on your foot. This will make them fit perfectly.
